Celebrating One Year Of CARE!
We saved 1000’s of pounds of food from the landfill!
In collaboration with It Takes a Village, Homestead Helping Hands, and The Blossom Center, our food reclamation and rescue program has helped to pick up and deliver usable produce, bread, and food products to underserved communities. Volunteers distribute groceries, process food into more accessible portions, and feed our neighbors, while also reducing waste.
We made 100’s of new friends, including YOU!
Our monthly newsletter and social media platforms reach hundreds of people in Massachusetts and beyond, inviting everyone to attend our gatherings, events, and opportunities for civic engagement.
We hosted 25+ events and gatherings!
From monthly potlucks, clothing and seed swaps, town meetings, book clubs and events, we welcomed friends and neighbors to join us for social time, relationship building, problem solving, education, and discussion. Our commitment is to showing up for our community!
We started a book club!
We are committed to learning about creating community and models of solidarity. Our book club focuses on topics of mutual aid, civic action, community building, and resilience.
We built a CARE garden with the help of 50+ community partners!
Our developing communal garden space engaged 15+ collaborating organizations and local businesses, as well as 50+ individual volunteers to transform an unused plot of land into a vibrant space for gathering, education, and food production.
We advocated for the Hilltowns!
We attended meetings with state reps, food systems forums, mutual aid webinars, listening sessions, solidarity cookouts, engaged with state wide message boards, asked questions and spoke up about how the Hilltowns can become more resilient and a stronger community.
